Mark in his Gospel account records a few sighs of Jesus. One of the sighs we read of was at the time when the Pharisees asked Jesus to show them a sign from heaven. This sigh of our Lord expressed grief over the sin of hypocrisy and unbelief. We read about this in Mark 8:11-12:

“God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, And to be held in reverence by all those around Him” (Psalm 89:7)

“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns – broken cisterns that can hold no water.” (Jeremiah 2:13)

“Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders? (Exodus 15:11)

And the LORD appeared to him the same night and said,  “I am the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you and will multiply your descendants for My servant Abraham’s sake.” Genesis 26:24 We read in Genesis chapter 26 that the LORD appeared to Isaac twice. [...]

“For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.” Malachi 3:6

“O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set your glory above the heavens!” Psalm 8:1
